Homemade Pizza With Zesty Homemade Sauce
I had asked for a pizza stone set for Christmas and Santa (my bf) actually brought it to me. We’ve already made pizza a couple times since then but these are ones from over this past weekend — I can tell that our dough flattening skills have greatly improved thanks to Mr. Vergle Wagner himself (he’s actually a German American married to an Italian American).

Toppings for pizza #1: prosciutto, diced fresh mozzarella, sliced baby portobellos, canned black olives, sliced green pepper, red onions.

Toppings for pizza #2: Spicy salami, fresh basil, diced fresh mozzarella, sliced baby portobellos, fresh sliced tomato, canned black olives.
As per usual, our sauce is inspired by the Exquisite Pizza Sauce recipe although we always go less on the honey and cayenne pepper / dried red pepper flakes than what that recipe says. Our dough is actually from whole foods (not homemade) and just a tip: when rolled out properly, it becomes the size of a mongolian bbq grill-top, so you might want to split the one container of dough into two for 2 pizzas.
